I have a small, well behaved dachshund that comes with me.
Qualifications

I completed a level 3 b-tec in horse management and was awarded with a DDD*. I also have a BA honours degree in Equine Business Management. I did the training for BHS ride and road safety and stage 1, just never found time to take the exams. This is something I still want to achieve and I hope to start my HGV this year.

Duties of Current Occupation

Sole charge of 10 horses of all different disciplines.

Equine Work Experience

I have experiences from the past 8 years in all types of industry; such as pre-training, eventing, showjumping, sales& livery. All these environments were professional and proper which taught me absolutely everything I know. I stayed at an eventing yard for three years, my role here consisted of being one of the home grooms. This involved taking responsibility in taking part of running the yard on a daily basis keeping all the horses looked after and well turned out in preparation for their careers (Some of the horses competed up to 4*) and I occasionally would go off in the lorry in season to events and take the horses to interval training with the owners. The yard was under strict management which gave me a real idea of what the professional industry will be like. Currently I am coming to the end of my role at a full livery yard whereby I work solely alone with 10 horses.

Specialities

I am petite, lightweight and competent in all duties such as, turning out to a high standard, taking fresh horses to the field, immaculate and efficient with my mucking out. I am sensible, professional, trustworthy and treat any horse like it’s my own. I am a friendly, approachable face with an impeccable work ethic, superb manners and have an eye for detail. I have been left sole charge of many yards in the past to ensure all the horses had the best care.

Type of Ride Work

I have experience riding all sorts of horses and owned my own since I was 12. I worked at a sales yard where we had green ponies coming off the lorry every few weeks. I also trained my own youngster and sold it on to a pony club home. I show jumped as a teenager but my strengths lay in flat work. I have developed a real love for flat work and understanding a young horse by how it feels and taking my time to listen. Being 5ft2 I am great on ponies!

Competition Details

I have competed up to 1/105m with my ponies and horses and attended the odd dressage test here and there. At the previous event yard I worked at we held BS competitions every other weekend so I took part in the course building with the course builder and gate watching/reporting to judges via walkie talkie. I also groomed for a BS juniors family last summer going to comps in the lorry with 2/3 ponies at a time. I have more grooming competition experience than ridden.
