I currently work at Renishaw as an operator but have found I need to be outside more often. I have previously worked in customer service facing roles as well as outside jobs such as on a dairy farm. I also currently work as a swimming teacher.

Growing up, my whole life I have been around horses and many other animals. We have a pony of our own that I have ridden and cared for since I was about 8 years old. I have had lots of experience volunteering at Tumpy Green equestrian centre where I spent my weekends leading horses in lessons, on hacks and around event sites. I also cleaned arenas and stables out, filled hay nets and water, accompanied people when tacking up and loading horse boxes and also turned horses out and back in again. Recently I have accompanied my sister on hacks when she has been back around horses. Since Covid unfortunately I haven’t had as many opportunities to care for horses (other than my own) or ride so I would love to find a job willing to take me on and gain my confidence and experience back again. I love being around them and find that I need to be in an outdoorsy environment where I get on well with everyone so that it’s enjoyable.

I have some experience with various horses with different temperaments and personalities. I would love to do more and gain more experience with Foals. In previous roles I have shown attributes of being a team leader and would love to work somewhere where there is a chance to work as a team and feel like a valuable member in my work place.

I have ridden a few different horses. Shetlands when I was little so I understand their unique personalities. My pony is a Welsh cob. I’ve also ridden a few others, both Mares and Geldings. I’ve mainly done flatwork with a few poles and small jumps included when I was younger. I’ve also ridden lots of hacks.

I have not competed myself but I have worked around competitions and helped out as a groom or as extra support.
