Equine Work Experience

At the age of 17 I moved to Cornwall to work with 3 horses and a pony. One of the horses was an ex racehorse that required a lot of patience and I enjoyed building up a wonderful relationship with him. The other horse was extremely difficult for its owner and again I gained his trust and developed a really good bond with him. I enjoyed the challenge of building a mutually trustworthy relationship with all the horses within the space of 3/4 months. For the past 8 months I have been working on an eventing/ livery yard just outside Chipping Norton. On this yard we have 4 horses (including a Shetland pony) who all have very different characters which I find very interesting and amazing to work with. Again with this yard, I have grown great bonds with all horses. I have also been working at a hunt yard this past season which includes all general hunt care/work. I have grown lots of bonds at hunt yard with the horses and grown a massive love for the hunting industry.

Specialities

I have a great affinity with all animals especially dogs and horses. I am confident with horses and adore them. Although I have joined the equine world in the last 3 years, I have a huge love for it and I'm always wanting to expand my knowledge. I moved down to Cornwall at the age of 17 to work with horses at a private yard for a summer which made my love for working with horses a lot stronger!

Type of Ride Work

Over the past year or so I have started riding, which means I am not advanced but I am very confident with them and very eager to learn more and do more riding as I adore it.

Competition Details

I haven’t competed before but I have worked with horses that do compete. I am learning how to plait up for competitions at the moment as well as getting them fully ready for shows.
