Duties of Current Occupation

My current main duties include mucking out, pulling mane/tails, turning out/in, prepping horses for shows, cleaning tack, general tidying and riding horses and ponies. This includes school masters, youngsters and spooky/green horses. Lunging, bathing

Equine Work Experience

I worked as a volunteer arena party during Blue Chip 2019. I also did work experience at a busy livery yard in 2019, handling 60+ horses daily.

I worked as barn mentor for the academic year of 2019/2020 at Hartpury University where I oversaw two barns. Ensured all horses were cared for, students were following the rules and standards were met in terms of cleanliness, tidiness and overall student and staff satisfaction.

And post uni I worked on a private yard of 20+ horses for 2.5 years. I did all general yard duties, mucking out, sweeping, turning in/out, plaiting, cleaning tack, pulling mane and tails, show prep, assisting farriers/physios, riding and bringing on youngsters, administering medication, handling foals and broodmare's, lunging etc.

Specialities

I specialise in handling difficult horses both on the ground and riding, plaiting and pulling mane, bandaging, lunging, long reining, show-prepping horses, basic first-aid care and organising time effectively and making schedules.

I have worked/volunteered at yards from the age of 12 onwards, I was a barn mentor at Hartpury University 2019/2020. And have worked the past 2.5 years on a private yard of 20+ horses doing all general yard duties+riding

Type of Ride Work

I have ridden both young and experienced horses, and have handled anything from extremely green and difficult to a seasoned school master. I have competed in dressage up to the Dutch equivalent of BD Medium. In Show Jumping I am currently competing in Newcomers and have now also successfully started my current horse in Eventing, successfully competing BE90 in his first season.
