Haven’t done my BHS stages but would be interested in doing them along side my job if required/allowed. Ongers farm trecking centre is where i heloed out but i currently work as an apprentice at gloucester services but as much as i’m doing well there and like the people i feel that i’d be happier in a horse environment. I know i have a lot to learn but work hard and very keen yo learn all aspect of horse care etc. I’m also currently learning to drive.
I’m currently working as an apprentice at a local services, but its not really for me so i’d like to change to something i know
I’m novice intermediate scale, helped at a riding school, inc mucking out, tacking up, turning out etc. Helped out in lessons with both children and adults. I also have been helping on a yard with a family friend whos showing me all about backing a horse who is now mine: I have done some lunging, lots of longlining, leaning over, working her in saddle; we are currently coming into rebacking her after a winter off. have also helped with 2 nervous rescues, i’ve also been learning liberty and teaching it to my mare.
I’m good with very quiet, shy type horses that arent very keen on being around people. I’ve worked with a couple of rescues that were unhandled one of which went onto be sold and is now handled constantly, the other we still have with us. When i was in a riding school environment i was okay with the children, i mucked out, rode did everything really including grooming and bathing.Very quick learner!
walk trot canter, pop a small jump in canter: Learnt at the riding school i helped at which i feel didnt push me enough as lots of people in the lesson. at my horses yard i’ve been having some lessons on non-riding schoolers and have found it a great challenge and like to do more and move my riding forward. me horse has taught me a lot but have lots more i want to learn. my instructor says that i learn quickly and im able to translate it through to ridden work.
I haven’t competed before
