Equine Work Experience
I have groomed at event's for people through 2018, 2019 when I worked at my previous livery where I also taken on a warmblood with a background of eventing who had major behaviour issues and a ex racer who had been passed over from liveries at my old yard. I've done shows in teams so I've had to help people get there horses ready, help the riders while thinking about my own turn out. I studied a 3 A-level diploma in horse management I went backstage are race yards and at events like 'HOYS', Gatcombe and more so I've learnt about the background, what it takes and how to get there. I've taught at a ridding school with children, adults and people with health conditions many times, however I don't have any coaching certificates as I was a substitute and back up.
Specialities
I have worked at riding schools and livery yard which gave me the chance to gain a lot of experience with all types of horses. I've worked with rescues, two fouls and one broodmare. I've worked on a yard were I've had to keep 13 horses by myself so I have become really quick but effective at mucking out. I've help organised events and worked besides 15 people for 3 years. I've kept yards as clean and as organised I possibly can. Keeping a yard well presented makes a more easy work environment.
Type of Ride Work
I started off riding again in 2013 after a year break on a fresh 14h jumper, lazy mares to the keener horses. I'm passionate on taking on horses with behaviour issues and achieving bonds with them. I've worked with schooling ex-racers and young horses and giving them a lot more confidence. I've schooled a lot of horses that were brought for the riding school, de-sensitising and teaching. I do prefer jumping but find flatwork equally entertaining.
Competition Details
I've been a groom for riders competing nationally and locally, in all day events. I've organised a handful of home events at previous yards. In my college course we were made to organise a public event however due to covid we had to cancel it. But we had to look at all aspects to starting an event including, advertisement, costs and insurances. The types of events I've helped organise are showjumping (including course designing), showing and dressage.
