Duties of Current Occupation
the main duties were to exercise, muck out, prepare for presentation, health check, fit tack and create hypothetical nutritonal feed plans.
Equine Work Experience
I have completed work experience on a professional event yard for around a year and a half, taking the horses to clear rounds, prepping them for training, being arena help for poles and jump etc. I have also completed work experience on a stud, hunt yard and an equestrian centre. Also, along with a local hacking centre, a local riding school. I spent 3 months at the local hacking centre, a year volunteering at the riding school, and the stud hunt and equestrian centre I spent a whole year at training and learning the individual skills needed for each environment.
Specialities
I have worked with pregnant mares and yearlings, I am very organised and quick when it comes to turning out and mucking out. I have worked with all sorts of breeds from shires to thoroughbreds to Shetlands. I can work individually and as part of a team, with my leadership skills developing the more I go through the industry.
Type of Ride Work
I have ridden basic riding school horses and ponies, mainly of the cob types, so mainly lazy horses. Doing mainly flat work and the occasional jumping.
Competition Details
I have organised with my class a Christmas show jumping event for part of our qualification along with organising a training event for NSEA which is a college representative horse riding show against other colleges.
