Qualifications

I have not yet completed any formal equine-related courses.However, I am very interested in developing my knowledge and would be keen to take courses in areas such as stable management, equine first aid, or BHS (British Horse Society) stages in the future. • I learn quickly through practical experience and am motivated to gain both hands-on skills and formal training as opportunities arise.

Duties of Current Occupation

I have gained valuable experience in animal care through looking after my aunt’s horse, where I regularly assisted with general grooming, feeding, and ensuring the horse was comfortable and well cared for.

Equine Work Experience

My equine experience comes primarily from assisting with the care of my aunt’s horse, which has given me a solid introduction to daily stable routines and general horse care. I have regularly supported with grooming, feeding, mucking out, and ensuring the horse is comfortable and well cared for. Through this, I have learned the importance of handling horses calmly and confidently, always prioritising safety and consistency. I am comfortable with basic tasks such as leading, tying up, rugging, hoof picking, and cleaning tack at a beginner level, and I am keen to build on these skills through further hands-on experience. Although I have not owned my own horse or worked full-time in a yard, I am very willing to learn and take direction from experienced staff. Type of Ride Work

I have mainly ridden school horses through regular riding lessons, where I have developed skills in basic flatwork, including walk, trot, canter, and working on improving my balance and control. Alongside this, I have taken part in guided hacks and riding tours, which have given me confidence riding different horses in varied environments, including open fields and off-road tracks. While I have not yet specialised in disciplines such as jumping, hunting, or competition work.
