Owned, cared for and ridden a Friesian mare for 12 years (since she was 4). In that time, I have worked as a volunteer at a riding school and competition yard in Essex. I moved to Hampshire 7 years ago, and in these last 7 years have been a livery at 4 local yards. Rescued a 1 year old pony 2 years ago and helped get her started. Last year I bought a lively Dutch warmblood gelding whom I am loving getting to know and progress in my flatwork (and jumping very soon). In these years, whilst I have not worked at a yard, I have handled hundreds of horses and am confident on the ground and riding. I have (unfortunately) gained experience in caring for severe pyloric ulcers in recent months (now all clear!), as well as having experience with mud fever, poulticing hoof abscesses and caring for different needs.

I am a qualified primary school teacher looking for a change in career. I am very hard working and eager to learn and grow my knowledge and experience in horses in a formal way.

I have ridden a wide variety of horses in my 15+ years of riding. Recently, I have mainly ridden my 11yo Dutch warmblood gelding who can be a handful at times. I also ride our Frisian mare who is 16 but acts like a 3yo most of the time. I am a very calm, gentle rider and very keen to increase my hours in the saddle.
