Duties of Current Occupation

Student. Seeking a job to start in the summer at an event yard when I have completed my A Levels. Duties to include general yard duties and event grooming experience. I have my own horse who I would like to compete along side this role.

Equine Work Experience

I have previously worked on different yards, a large livery and dressage yard where I learned to work quick and effectively. Also on a smaller livery yard where I keep my own horses. These opportunities have given me a wealth of experience of handling many different types of horses, from young-stock to advanced level dressage horses. I worked part time in both of these occupations while completing my A-Levels. I have also had the opportunity to groom for a 2* event rider during some of their competitions during the 2021 season. This has shown me the importance of the 'behind the scenes' work riders carry out with their horses prior to an event and on the day. This as also heightened my appreciation for the high standard of turnout that these horses and riders must have for an event.

Specialities

Over the years of competing myself, I have developed a high standard of turnout and attention to detail when it comes to competition prep. Most of my competition experience lies within eventing where I have competed with BE, Pony Club and NSEA. While I have worked on livery yards and been a livery myself I have learned to keep a yard very tidy while being quick and effective while mucking out.

Type of Ride Work

Over the many years I have ridden horses, I have ridden a collection of different types of horses. This includes event horses, dressage horses and showjumpers. I also have experience with rehabilitation work.

Competition Details

I have five years of eventing experience where I have competed up to BE100. Through my Pony Club I have helped run competitions. I would have to use my organisational skills to ensure competitors would enter the ring on time to certify that the show would continue to run smoothly.
