Studying at Sparsholt college on a two year equine management course Equine Lvl 3 Health and Safety exam- Pass Microsoft Office specialist exam- Pass Equine management synoptic exam- Merit Biological systems of horses- Pass Exercising horses- Merit Overall grade: Merit, Merit Distinction.

For five years I helped at Gleneagles Equestrian Centre, working with both the horses and the customers. This involved general horse care such as mucking out stables, grooming and exercising. I've lead customers during lessons, given information about the facilities, assisted newcomers or day-coursers who were between the ages of 5-15. I have also assisted in teaching lessons, most commonly the beginner schooling and hacking sessions but I’ve also had experience teaching the novice lessons.

As part of my colleges work experience system, I had the opportunity to work at Chris Gordons racing yard as a stable hand. This involves mucking out, feeding, turning in and out and occasional riding opportunities.

I've been involved with horses for 7 years now, including treating injured and sickly horses, youngsters and inexperienced projects. I've been directly involved with caring for medicated horses, included assessing their wellbeing daily and providing their medication.

Throughout the years I have ridden a variety of horses, ranging from forward going ponies to older schoolmasters. I have helped school the naughtier ponies when they became too difficult for the younger riders to handle. Currently I am breaking in an 11 year old project pony to be used in flat schooling and hacking. In the future I am planning on assisting my yard manager on breaking in her 4 year old thoroughbred for flatwork and jump.
