Accommodation required due to not having a driving licence. Must be able to bring my own horse. (8 year old TB gelding)
Qualifications

I studied 2 years at Holme Lacy College. I completed my Level 2 Technical Certificate in Equine Care which I had 3 distinctions in & a pass in health & safety. In that year I also got an “Outstanding Student” award. In my second year of college I completed my Level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma in Equine Management in which I received 1 merit & 6 passes. I have also got a certificate in emergency first aid which I have also passed.

Duties of Current Occupation

I have been left in charge of a farm which included feeding the cattle, checking the sheep & bringing horses in/turning them out, exercising them, grooming and tacking them up as well as sorting out their feeds, filling up haynets mucking out etc.

Equine Work Experience

I have grown up with horses so I know the ins and outs around them. I have helped break in ponies and horses and got them going. I have ridden ponies as small as 11hh to horses as big as 19hh. I have been put on horses that have a tendency to bolt, buck & rear which I enjoy the adrenaline of as well as owning my own horse who I have produced myself. He is a 16.2hh TB gelding ex flat racer who I have managed to get jumping aswell as other things. In my first year of college I enjoyed doing my 2 weeks of work experience at the local RDA in which I groomed, tacked up and led horses round aswell as making sure the person on that horse was enjoying it.

Specialities

I have worked with plenty of young stock and have helped bring them on e.g got them halter trained and walking alongside me on a lead rope as well as bringing difficult horses back into work.

Type of Ride Work

I have ridden Shetland’s, Thoroughbreds, Warmbloods, Connie’s, Palomino’s, Clydesdales, Shires and cobs. I can jump, walk, trot (sitting and rising) & canter on both reins. I am hopefully taking my ex racer out hunting this season. I have also taken multiple horses out hacking.
