Duties of Current Occupation
Working as a team, assisting and training new starters, working under pressure, sole charge of different areas of the business, dealing with thousands of customers a day.
Equine Work Experience
I have had past experience volunteering at a riding school, and stayed here for roughly 6 years.
I have completed both my Level 2 and Level 3 Extended Technical Diploma in Equine management at Oaklands College, achieving multiple distinctions in various modules. It is since the recent completion of these courses I have decided to search for a more permanent role in the equine industry.
I have had experience working with and looking after friends and neighbours ponies and horses in times of their owners absence due to holidays.
Specialities
I have a record of outstanding customer service from both my previous jobs, along with good communication with my peers.
I am a very fast learner and extremely adaptable to new working environments.
I have experience with working on a riding school during my time as a volunteer.
Type of Ride Work
I have had experience working with a wide range of horses. Although I don’t believe in problem horses, on the riding school, there were many horses who showed “bad” behaviours. There were multiple occasions I was able to spot reasons for the horses misbehaviour, for example ill fitting tack. I have done lots of flat work with my BHS Stage 5 instructor over my courses at Oaklands, and had experience bringing on a young horse teaching them to lunge. I have also had previous jumping experience.
Competition Details
As part of the Event management module in my Level 3 diploma, me and my peers had to organise a showjumping competition. All of the organisation was left down to ourselves, including but not limited to; course design, catering arrangements, scoring, judging, first aid arrangements, designing and ordering rosettes and the booking system.
