Qualifications

Although I do not hold any equestrian specific qualifications, I have years nearly 20 years experience to make up for this, having been riding for most of my life.

Alongside this, I do have 9 GCSEs graded A*-B, and a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sociology. I also have a degree in politics, although on the yard is where I’m happiest, hence this is where I want to work!

I also have a full clean UK driving license, and am British Red Cross first aid trained.

Equine Work Experience

I have been riding from the age of 2, and have been brought up around horses all my life. Equine sports and welfare have been my passion for a number of years, and I consider myself to be knowledgeable in practically all areas of horsemanship (although there is always room for improvement!). I have owned my own horses in the past, and I was previously a dedicated member of the Pony Club. I have competed locally for a number of years, but would love to progress this further and qualify for higher ranking competitions. I have aided in the training and development of young horses, from the first backing of boisterous youngsters to the retraining of ex-racehorses fresh from the track. I am deeply invested in the welfare of the animals I care for, both physically and psychologically, again this is an area I would love to explore further. I am confident in and out of the saddle, and genuinely, there is no where I'd rather spend my time than at the yard mucking out!

Specialities

I consider myself to be highly confident around horses of all breeds, ages and experiences. Equestrianism is truly my passion, and I am dedicated to progressing my career in this industry. Alongside this, I am academically strong, and a quick learner (I am keen to progress in my BHS qualifications). I am sociable person and enjoy working as part of a team. I believe in hard work, and am always keen to please. I am also very physically fit, and enjoy pushing myself to constantly improve.

Type of Ride Work

I have ridden in English style predominantly throughout my equestrian career and prefer this over Western and other alternatives (although I have only ventured in this a handful of times). I am confident in all aspects of riding, including groundwork and schoolwork. I love competing, and have competed both locally and with the Pony Club, and this is something I would love to return to one day. I am also interested in natural horsemanship, and have attended workshops for this previously.

Competition Details

I have competed mainly only locally, in a variety of classes from novelty to hunter and show jumping. I have also competed in cross country competitions. This is an area of horsemanship that although I do not have lots of experience in, I am very keen to develop.
