Duties of Current Occupation

Day to day running of the yard, preparing morning and evening feeds, updating diets, mucking out, turning out, administer oral and topical medication if required, treating minor wounds, holding for farrier or vet, daily health checks, and grooming.

Equine Work Experience

Current role of employment at The Lord Whisky Animal Sanctuary. Started May 2011 working with horses, ponies, donkeys and a wide range of other animals.

Volunteer and ride at Uplands Riding School, started up riding again back in August 2019

Volunteer at RDA- Woodchurch driving group started back in June 2021

Specialities

I have a wide range of experience working around horses, from young and fit to old, sick and sometimes very unpredictable. I believe this has improved my horsemanship skills, having to sometimes adapt and change with the animal due to to neglect, illness or abuse.

I like to keep a very well organised and tidy work environment, this includes the yard, stables, barn and feed preparation area.

Type of Ride Work

I have ridden young and fit horses that are a mixture of thoroughbred and Coby breeds, some also very sensitive or responsive to little or subtle aid.

In starting a horse I have recently acquired the skill to lunge fit and unfit horses.
