I have been riding for 11 years and have been doing work experience on my riding school yard, I'm currently at Hadlow college doing my level 2 equine studies.
Equine Work Experience
I have done work experience at the riding school where I used to get lessons from before I had gone to college. I had recently done work experience there in April 2021 and was offered to work there in exchange of me getting to ride, lung, free school and learn to carriage drive.
I also do duties at Hadlow college this is mucking out, doing waters, haying and grooming the horses. along with sweeping the yard to make it look presentable. if there was enough time after that we would do some extra jobs for instance weed pulling, poo picking etc. I have been doing this for almost a year.
I also have a interview with the British Racing School on the 4th of august. this would be an 18 week foundation flat racing course.
I have worked with challenging horses almost every day and once with two yearlings at a pony camp which I had gone to for a week. I can make a yard tidy and organised along with mucking out sufficiently. I can work individually or as a team and take charge in certain rolls.
Type of Ride Work
I have ridden quite a lot of different horses since I had started riding. I have ridden green horses, lazy horses, forward horses, I have ridden horses where they like to buck when in a school by themselves.
I have done flat work and jumping, but id like to go hunting some time and do a bit more cross county.
I would like some experience in starting young horses, since one day I would like my own project horse.
No but I'd like to do show jumping and cross country competitions in the future.
