Equine Work Experience
I have worked on a multitude of different yards and seen a lot of different yard dynamics. Whether that be a livery, dealing, eventing or a training yard, I am usually very good at settling in to a working environment. During my 4 years at College and University I needed to do 2 weeks of work experience a year, and benefited a great deal from each placement. For specifics see CV
Specialities
I have a lot of experience working with horses, making me very confident handling any temperament of horse. I am an established rider and very dedicated to the sport, always trying to perfect my position and way of training. I am efficient and highly organized, consistently ensuring tasks are completed to a high standard. I possess strong problem-solving skills and work well both independently and as part of a team. I like to say I've got a good sense of humor and effective communication skills.
Type of Ride Work
I have done a lot of schooling, working on the scales of training on different horses. I am a very confident jumper, having done many lessons and competitions both in showjumping, X-country. I have done a bit of hunting and used to hack everyday at an old job. I have also experienced a bit of starting for young horses, learning about releases and body language to look out for. Overall, I am intrigued by all disciplines and will try anything.
Competition Details
I have organised a Lecture Demonstration for William Fox-Pitt, as part of my L5 Qualification. In a class of three we planned and organised everything to create a successful event. Including: budgeting, sponsors, date/place/time, which rider to invite, communication to William Fox-Pitt and his team, marketing, seating, risk assessments, etc. I have done a bit of competing using the college horses, however it was limited due to not owning a horse.
