I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
Awaiting grades for my level 1 Horse Care, level 1 functional skills English and my level 2 Functional skills Maths. I was awarded a BTEC level 1 in Teamwork and personal skills in July 2018 as well being first aid trained, however that has since ran out and i will be looking to re do it once the whole COVOID situation has settled. In 2018 i achieved a distinction in my child development GCSE. I am also hoping to complete my BHS exams in the near future up to level 2 teaching at least.
I have just finished my level 1 course in horse care at Hadlow College
I have been passionate about horses for as long as I can remember I spent roughly 8 moths up until September 2019 volunteering at a local yard my responsibilities included; mucking out up to 17 stable, refilling water buckets, making up spare hay nets, prepare feeds for various horses and ponies with differing dietary needs, turning in and out horses and ponies, helping with lessons and ponies clubs, setting up the arena with various obstacles, jumps or courses, grooming, taking up and untacking for rides. I have enjoyed being part of a team and getting to know the personality's, liked and dislikes of all the horses. For the past year I have been studying at Hadlow College doing; Being organised, Developing a personal progression plan, working with others, Caring and feeding animals, Moving and accommodating animals, Developing estate maintenance skills, Riding horses under supervision, and Maintaining the health of animals.
Having ridden for roughly 6 -7 years I have had experience in both Western and English riding. I started riding English and discovered my love for jumping, I have worked with a wide range of horses jumping up to roughly 1m 30cm. After spending the summer 2018 in Montana around different ranches I learnt to ride Western. At the moment I am riding a 4 star eventer English twice to three times a week then riding western once a week hacking out, doing barrel racing and playing Polo Cross.
