- I am due to start a new Part time role at Newnham Court Equine Hospital as an Equine Nursing Technician. So I am looking for a fun and fulfilling role to work along side this.
Qualifications
2:1 BSc Equine Therapies 4 A levels 11 GCSE
Duties of Current Occupation
General yard duties, assisting veterinary procedures, working up and riding lameness's/ poor performance cases
Equine Work Experience
I completed a degree in Equine Therapies in 2018. Throughout my university course I spent summer and Christmas holidays working for a private VIP client (UKME). Here the horses and yards were kept immaculate and the highest standards were always met. Currently working at the Royal Veterinary College with a huge range of horses, again for biosecurity reasons, standards are always kept high and this will be the case when I progress on to my new job at Newnham Court Equine in Dec 2021.
Specialities
I have worked with a huge range of horses, from foals, stallions, race horses. Yard duties always completed to the highest standards, with particular attention to detail. I have the confidence to work well in a team and on my own, making quick decisions and prioritising tasks.
Type of Ride Work
Throughout my time at UKME I was riding up to 4 times per day. Mostly these were leisure horses and they were hacked/ schooled, but I was able to XC school and take horses to the gallops too. I also schooled showjumpers who were competing at Newcomers and Foxhunter. I have brought on youngsters in the past, but not broken in myself. At the RVC I am required to ride for poor performance/lameness. This often means horses that are bucking, rearing or reluctant to go forward.
Competition Details
I have not worked on competition yards in the past, and my competition experience has been lacking in recent years. As a teenager I would attend rallies and local shows.
