My first /stable yard / riding experience was at Cockington stables at Paighton, Devon, loved the smell of the stables ! Was 6 years old. Always liked horses. Made my own way into the horse world at the age of about 15, began helping out at a nearby stables. Have experienced owing three of my own, one a pony, two thoroughbreds, one an X racehorse. Since I have been handling Otto, who's a approx 16hands Irish Draft, I feel that I have gained far more experience than having a horse that has already been taught everything. When you are handling / breaking it drives you into a more deeper learning path.

Hi , I hope this helps, Took on a 20 year old Irish Draft called otto, fantastic horse in every way I must say. Bit of a sad story for him, was left for 10 years on tod. was sent to be broken in, the training was apparently fast also ringworm present so he was sent home early to. he caused injury to his owner's partner, bucked her off, she substained damaged ribs. I've been looking after him now for about just over two years, both doing very well !

Hold a good riding ability from experience. General riding ability, have had previous lessons, was prepared by a BHS riding school for Level 1 but did not take the exam.
