Duties of Current Occupation

I have worked previously as the head groom and rider at a showjumping barn in Oregon. We consistently had 20+ horses and I was in charge of rehabilitating a number of horses, caring for them, and preparing for our traveling and local competitions.

Equine Work Experience

I have been riding on since I was very young with at least 10 years of horse experience. I have never owned a horse, but the benefits of that mean that I am very confident on a variety of horses. In both my undergraduate and postgraduate universities I have been a member of the equestrian team and competed with our riders at our shows. As mentioned before, I have previously worked in a barn so I am familiar with all aspects of horse care and grooming. Last year, I took a horse riding holiday in France where we spent a week riding through forests, the countryside and public parks.

Specialities

I have worked with foals and yearlings beginning their training and handling. I have also worked with horses coming off injuries with very strong emotions. In my personal life and career I am very confident in a team setting and have often led the teams I have worked on. I am confident working with the public and many of my positions have been forward-facing.

Type of Ride Work

I have been competing for the last 5 years in both dressage and show jumping. I can jump up to 1.10m and am continuing to train! I have ridden almost everything, from fiery ponies to comfortable friesians, both in an arena and on hacks.

Competition Details

Yes, I have worked for a competition yard as a groom and assistant to the Head trainer. We travelled to competitions and clinics with multiple horses and clients.
