Unfortunately I haven’t completed any equine courses, but will be aiming to in the future to further my education. I have a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Agricultural Engineering which I studied at Hadlow College.

Ensuring customers are all treated equally and fairly. Carrying out all work to a high standard. Making sure that all instructions are complied with and carried out professionally. Working to strict time frames.

I have previous experience with volunteering at Leybourne Grange Riding School for around a year. The duties here included; Mucking out. Turning out and bringing in. Making up feeds. Poo picking fields. Grooming. Tacking up/un-tacking. Leading horses in the school/out hacking whilst clients rode.

I have loaned horses from the age of 15, so have a fair few years of hands on experience working with horses of different ages and breeds. Due to this I have high standards of how my horse’s bed should be, grooming and overall care which is transferrable to client’s horses. I believe keeping your work area tidy, whether that be an office or a yard is vital. I am a true team player and work seamlessly in a group, but can just as easily and throughly work alone.

I have experience with riding a ‘green horse’, my current loan was barely ridden before I took him on. I spent more time on my bottom on the floor than I did in the saddle with him due to his lack of ridden experience. Together we managed to work through that step by step and got to a nice level of schooled work. I have taken him out hacking alone many times and although he was scared at first, I managed to gain his trust and now he is a confident ride whilst out.
