Duties of Current Occupation

Currently working at a health centre as a receptionist. Looking for a groom/rider position in showjumping/eventing. Been a polo groom for 2 seasons and enjoyed it, looking for something more permanent.

Equine Work Experience

I have ridden for over 15 years, handled mares, geldings, stallions and youngsters. I worked on a dealers yard from the age of 10 until I was 13 when I then went on to jumping and had a little stallion. Since then I have done a bit of everything, showing, showjumping, working hunter, dressage and driving. All low level/unaffiliated but I have always tried my best to learn new things. I have worked with ex-racers, re-schooling them to go to show homes, driving ponies schooled to become kids ponies etc. I also worked at a riding school where I taught the kids lessons and started them off(although not qualified) and loved it. Having now done 2 seasons in polo (2021& 2022) I would love to move back towards showjumping/eventing as it is where my heart is.

Specialities

I have ridden and worked with stallion since the age of 12 (10 years) and have show jumped unaffiliated up to 1m 10, ridden grade B jumpers, worked on dealers yards and broken to ride and drive. I have worked as sole charge/sole groom and in a team with a head groom, I don't mind either. In my current job I am also a cover duty manager so hold first aid training with the Royal Life Saving Society. I can turn out to a high standard in showing, polo and showjumping, but may be a little rusty.

Type of Ride Work

I prefer the show jumping side of horses but I am willing to develop skills in different ride work too. Along with ridden work I do drive also, I have broken multiple horses to drive and have had driving horses from ploys cobs, stepping cobs and welshes up to racing pacers from Appleby whom I have trained to be calm and not race who can now be driven at the end of the buckle. Ridden work I have broken in, schooled and restarted.

Competition Details

I have shown up to local level and showjumping unaffiliated up to 1m 10. I have only down low level due to lack of funds/non-equine parents so would love to progress my skills to match where I want to be!
