Duties of Current Occupation
The main part of my duty is the care of passengers and first aid. I have to be aware of all surroundings and always be prepared for non-normal events to take place and use the correct procedure to do so. Safety being top priority
Equine Work Experience
I have had experience working with Keith Dalgliesh race horse trainer working on his yard. Duties included mucking out. Turning out and in. Rugging and un-rugging for the suitable weather. Feeding. Taking young Thoroughbreds up the gallops for there racing training.
I also rescued my current pacer 4 years ago and have slowly brought him into work by breaking him in, schooling and learning how to pace correctly by working on his slow canter this has seen to have major progression in his work, attitude and even his muscle movement.
I have dealt with horses off all breeds, conditions and experience. I have cared for my Connemara who passed away from laminitis with years of treatment and retirement and deal well with the care side of the animals.
Specialities
Having horses since I can remember I have learned over the years the quick but efficient way to take care of duties eg. Mucking out, hay nets, rugging etc.
My dad owns a small amount of race horses which over the years I have taken care off, ridden and loved.
Being around horses is very natural to me and comes as a second nature to care for them
Type of Ride Work
I am currently in the process of schooling my rescue who I broken in on my own he is a pacer so both of us learned together about the best way to work together. Previously on my pony of 10 years I competed in many showjumping competitions clearing 1m courses and placed in the top 3 each time. Jumping was my strongest category and where I feel most confident. I have also trained and ridden young Thoroughbreds starting their racing journey by taking them up the gallops for daily training.
