Currently studying Level 2 Equine Studies

Almost completed Level 2 Equine Studies at Brooksby Collage, Leicestershire During my course i have learnt topics such as lunging, horse biology etc.

As part of my collage course i have completed work experience at my local riding school, Witham Villa, Broughton Astley. My duties here included mucking out in the morning, for this task i had to work efficiently and thoroughly ensuring all stables were done correctly and to get most of them done as a team. I also groomed and tacked up the ponies before riding lessons and was involved in the general upkeep of all the horses and the general maintenance of the yard. I also participated in the children's riding lessons, leading them around and helping them get on.

I have extensive experience in general yard duties such as mucking out, keeping the yard tidy etc, which i can perform to a high industry standard and get done quickly. I have had some experience with the handling of a foal and introducing her to her first learning experiences. During my collage placement i have also had introductions to horse nutrition, lunging, long reining, pulling/trimming and clipping. I have been involved with the slow rehabilitation of my horse after a tendon injury.

I have ridden for around 10 years and during this time I have ridden a large variety of different horses. These include young/green horses which I have worked with on the flat, to strong and excited horses which I have done small jumps with. I have also had some experience with starting a horse.
