NVQ Level 3 in Racehorse Care and Management

Exercising both ridden and groundwork, grooming, tacking up for ridden and driven, schooling, breaking, re schooling, general yard duties

I attended the Northern Racing School in Doncaster where I gained level 1 in Racehorse Care and Management and worked for 3 years for Martin Bielby at East Ravendale where I gained levels 2 and 3. I have also worked on a self employed basis on a show jumping yard with competing horses and ponies and youngsters for 2 years, bring in charge of the yard of 10 horses with 2 people working part time under myself. Following that I went to work in offices but have owned my own horses from being 14 years old, I currently have 3 cobs 2 of which I broke in myself to ride and drive. I also worked weekends and in my spare time with other people's horses by bringing them back into work, breaking them in or helping with issues their horses may have had. I currently work as a freelance groom with carriage driving dutch warmblood horses.

I work with youngsters and manhandled horses. I use the natural horsemanship technique mainly, however will also use traditional methods with the horses aswell. I do a lot of join up and ground work. I have a gentle approach but also firm and will ride with soft hands and a deep seat. I can also drive horses singularly and break to drive as well.
