Duties of Current Occupation

Highly skilled equine groom and rider with over 20 years of knowledge and experience including sole charge and management. Disciplines include Showjumping, Eventing, Polo and Hunting. Very calm, patient and confident on the ground and in the saddle.

Equine Work Experience

I started at pony club in Lincolnshire, training and competing until the age of 21. For a few years, I spent my time buying young horses, putting them through quality training and selling them onto 5* homes. Many of these horses taught me the power of empathy and communication. I successfully competed in eventing at unaffiliated open level, and then moved to Australia in 2013 to work at Ellerston Polo Club with some of the world's best polo players and horses. My polo career expanded over the years, equipping me with management, sole charge and other responsibilities including veterinary assistance and learning about nutrition. I have also discovered the power in understanding equine holistic wellbeing, with the study of equine craniosacral therapy at Sydney Polo Club in 2015. After many years working in polo, I returned to the UK and have been working as a freelance groom and rider travelling around the UK.

Specialities

My previous experience has equipped me with teamwork ethos, time management skills and learning in-depth 5* care for horses. I am passionate about the way my work is presented and believe that the better the condition of the horse, the better they feel and perform. Other skills that I have attained include training horses to transition into a new discipline, sole charge responsibilities, yard duties and turnout for competition, as well as many other tasks that require attention to detail.
