Equine Work Experience

Volunteer groom at a private yard. Responsibilities included care of 4-6 horses two to three times a week. I had to exercise most of the horses and train the youngsters. Trained a young, green, naughty horse up the levels. Cared for a new-born foal, weaned him off his mum. Helped with the recovery of a horse with a tendon injury. Strengthened her tendons with a lot of in hand walking. Currently helping with the recovery of my horse with laminitis. Trained a young minded, green, timid horse up the levels. Placed at show jumping competitions, trained at many show grounds, hacked on the road. Trained a friend's horse to slow down and collect herself, increased the horse's confidence in different arenas and increased the owner's confidence when riding her. Completed 150 hours of work experience at Mather Avenue Mounted Police, Liverpool. Looked after 13 horses, helped with the recovery of allergic reactions to salt water and injections on two different horses, cleaned a mare's area.

Type of Ride Work

Started riding at the age of 6 at a riding school, riding all the horses, new to old, good and naughty. Throughout the years I’ve had approximately 9 horses to ride and loan which has increased my riding ability and confidence. I ride multiple horses in college ranging from young green horses to older more experienced. I place in almost every competition I enter and can easily adapt my riding to suit the horse. I am very good at reading the horse to make it feel comfortable when riding etc.

Competition Details

I compete as regularly as I can with my 10 year old welsh section d. He is very green and young minded however I place in most competitions I enter with him. I have also ridden multiple horses for competitions and placed with them.
