As an Event Manager I guide and dictate between various professional sectors to provide an event service that is accurate to the client’s idealism of their event. These include marketing, sales, catering, accounts, security and audio visual teams.
Experience around horses has been gained from a young age, I owned my first horse around the age of 15 and have continued to ride and care for horses ever since. I have competed at local level show jumping whilst young but I took a break from the saddle to pursue a degree in Sports Development at the age of 18. Before this point I worked weekends at Park View Equestrian doing stable duties, assisting with lessons and the welfare of the horses but then promptly moved to stables closer to my home. I returned to the saddle at age 22 I realized that horses were something that I was supposed to be working with, so I brought a young Arab Mare and trained in Spain for four years until just recently under a retired 1* Eventer from Holland named Peggy Van Asseldonk. It was here that I learnt the true disciplines behind the beauty of caring for a horse and it taught me that sometimes your instincts as a rider and leader become more important that anything you could ever read in a book.
I find it difficult to blow my own trumpet when it comes to horses and care, if I had to select a specialty I would say that I am a people person (very bubbly and happy, polite and well mannered) but also a horse person and the attention to detail I take in the care of horses, tack and stable is not something you will come across every day. As a rider I have a hot and sticky seat and I prefer to mount horses of the more energetic breed.
I am very committed to my dressage work and this is something that I am strongly looking to improve, I am currently riding between Second and Third level and wish to push this further given the right opportunity. I have experience show jumping fences around the 1m10 mark however Cross Country in Spain is quite uncommon so this is something that I have less experience in recently. I have hacked out in large groups of capability's from experienced to novice in the UK and in Spain.
My main competition experience lies within the showjumping sector. I have competed on my own horses at show jumping competitions locally in the UK and across Spain. With my horse in Spain I was affiliated under the showjumping federation of Andalusia which consists of competitions across each Southern region. I have also competed in a competition called "ribbon racing" which is a Spanish tradition of racing horses for a ribbon, similar to Gymkhana games in the UK.
