Mucking out, riding, catching in, turning out, treating minor injuries and medical conditions. Helping with he dentist and vet. Making individual feeds, tacking up and grooming to show standard. Helping liveries with general inquiries.
I have experience in riding a range of horses and ponies with different abilities. I have been a casual rider all my life, being on the yard for as long as I can be in the day. I would like to put my experience to professional use and learn as much as I can whilst doing so. I am currently working in a small team at a Livery Yard. I adore this job but feel I need more of a challenge. I am able to muck out, turn out and work to a very high standard. I work compassionately always. I am a quiet rider to gain the best results from each individual horse. I enjoy training on the ground also and am able to this in my current position. Working in a small team on a large yard allows me to manage my own time and get the most out of the day as possible. I can complete jobs efficiently to a very high standard. I enjoy working with horses and people together, I feel this shines through in my work. I maintain a positive attitude to each task I am handed because I love what I do.
I obtained a degree in Zoology and Animal Management Bsc in 2019. I have worked with a variety of horses and farm animals. I have grown up in a 'horsey' family but I am keen to do this professionally. I take pride in the care of all animals, working tentatively to fit each individuals needs. I am able to work alone efficiently and effectively. I have excellent communication and practical skills to work well in a team. I am able to work in a tidy, clean manner.
I have been lucky to have ridden horses of all ages and abilities. I have ridden green, problem and young horses. I have mostly ridden flat and done some jumping, XC and Hacking. I have little experience in backing horses, though I am keen to learn. I have some experience in instructing riding and flat work.
I have taken Horses and ponies to in hand shows and been a casual groom in show jumping season. I have also taken Red Poll Cattle to shows and competed in Group and Individual classes.
