Equine Work Experience
I began riding when I was about five years of age, taking weekly lessons. When I was in high school I began working at my lesson barn, doing chores independently- feeding, mucking, de-worming, etc. Meanwhile, my riding and horsemanship evolved as I trained in Centered Riding. In 2017 and again in 2021, I volunteered at a finca in Spain that managed and bred Lusitano horses. They focused on traditional dressage in combination with natural horsemanship. While there, I gained experience handling and training/schooling young horses, weanlings, stallions. As a groom there, I prepared horses to high standards. I've worked at a yard in London, leading and assisting with RDA lessons and running pony rides on the weekends. I've worked at a trail riding center in Spain, taking guests on rides. The past 3 summers i have been in management positions in equine programs at camps; this includes caring for a herd of up to 20 horses and training 2-4 young staff members in horsemanship and safety.
