Duties of Current Occupation

Mucking out, grooming, flat and jump schooling, turning out, bringing in, making feeds, feeding, haying, talking to clients (riding pupils), interacting with and preparing clients for lessons, odd yard jobs

Equine Work Experience

I have been riding for many years, and now have been working part time on a busy commercial yard (part of a city farm) in the middle of London for three years. I am trusted with all yard duties and am now sole charge of the horses at the weekend. I began working at a second, larger yard at the beginning pf 2019, and started schooling and exercising client's horses at around the same time. I have quite a bit of experience riding and bringing on youngsters, as well as more advanced horses. Competent, established flatwork, lots of showjumping and some cross country and hunting.

Specialities

Good people skills, able to talk to clients easily and politely Hard working and resourceful Lots of equine experience, especially young and green horses

Type of Ride Work

Youngsters/green are often bought for the yard that need schooling and bringing on before they are suitable for clients, so this is my main responsibility, though I exercise and school our more experienced horses, and clients on the livery yard. Have ridden a huge variety of horses, from small, sturdy cobs to ex showjumpers, racers and competition horses. Happy to school and jump but equally to hack out, ride cross country or on the gallops and the hunt field.

Competition Details

Have competed in lower level, unaffiliated and local competitions with some success, is difficult as I don't have my own horse
