Duties of Current Occupation

General yard duties, working with a range of horses from thoroughbreds to seasoned competitor to happy hacker, providing high standards of care to the livery horses, excerising the horses, admistering medications when required and working long hours.

Equine Work Experience

I have hands-on experience and training within working on a commercial thoroughbred stud environment at the National Stud. I am confident in my abilities to contribute effectively to the day to day running of a yard and work to achieve high standards of care to all horses. I am confident handling young thoroughbreds, maintaining excellent stable standards and supporting busy periods such as foaling and yearling prep. Experience with horses in a range of settings from small to big yards (teaching, educational, events) over 10 years. 10+ years of experience working on equine yards in a volunteer and work experience capacity. Daily tasks e.g. feeding, watering, grooming, trimming, clipping, sweeping turnout and tacking to an exceptional standard. Experience of event management and organisation. Feeding, including special diets and managing supplements. Managing a yard, including supervising more junior students and volunteers.

Specialities

Worked with a wide range of different breeds, from foals to seniors. Passionate about high standards of care and yard appearance. Hands-on work with stallions and broodmares. Worked with red horses and young stock to address behavioural issues. Experience on a range of different yards, including riding schools, educational, and event yards. Worked in a range of teams and has experience supervising Level 1 & 2 students doing yard duties at Hadlow College.

Assisted in organising and delivering competitions at Hadlow College over the weekends.
