Duties of Current Occupation

I have worked on a variety of different yard types, from family yards to stud farms. I have worked practically with horses on and off for 10 years, as well as studying horses (Equine Science and Business) at university.

Equine Work Experience

I have worked on a variety of yards with a variety of different horses, from cobs, ex racers, heavy breeds, stud/breeding horses, broodmares, yearlings and youngsters. I have loaned horses in the past for up to 6 years, where I was partially responsible for all aspects of their care and development. In and amongst this I was having riding lessons to continue my development. My university studies equipped me with specialised knowledge of equestrian science and the equine industry which I can pair with my practical skills to benefit any establishment.

Specialities

I can easily work alone or as part of a team. I have recently worked with young horses, in the form of riding and training, as well as handled stallions and assisted with other stud duties. In the past I have ridden/exercised horses and worked on all types of yards, both independently and as part of a team.

Type of Ride Work

I have recently worked with riding/training young horses and repurposing horses. In the past I have trained horses of all ages. I have done groundwork (lunging, liberty, bodywork, in-hand work, etc), flatwork (dressage, hacking, schooling, etc) and have done jumping (clear rounds, jumping competitions, and cross country). I have also ridden horses on mountains, in deserts, in the sea, and on the beach from walk to gallop.

Competition Details

I have competed mostly in Dressage, competing up to Novice. I have also done clear rounds and jumping competitions in the past. I have helped organise and execute competitions at local venues and have helped prepare horses for competition.
