I am currently completing a summer course in equine care in Morocco and I recently finished my A levels in physics, chemistry and biology.

I have previously volunteered at a stable where my job involved basic tacking up, grooming and maintaining a clean environment for the horses. However it was during the course I did in Morocco that I learnt most of my knowledge on looking after horses. I learnt about the necessity of protective gear for a horse as well as the sensitive areas in a horse, horse behaviour, common illnesses and their symptoms and much more. I also got to watch a horse with colic be treated. During this course I observed and carried out the important routine of a horse in training like feeding, grooming, tacking, warming up, training and cooling down as well as a post training routine that involved checking for injury, stretching your horse and cleaning up.

I have cared for horse of many sizes add temperament. I thoroughly enjoy washing and grooming horses as well as yard work. I personally find it therapeutic and accomplishing to tidy and managing a yard and I deal well with stressful situations.

Whilst most of my experience with horses involved care, I have ridden and can do basic trot and canter. I am still working on my gallop. However my priority is horse care.
