Teaching and yard duties.
I have ridden horses my whole life, I started teaching and doing yard work from the age of 16 to pay for my horse's livery after my father lost his job and we couldn't afford the fees.
My jobs included teaching lessons to all ages, skills, and disciplines. I did yard duties such as turning out, haying, feeding, mucking out, and exercising clients' horses.
I worked as an equine program leader in an American camp for 6 months. this means I fully ran the day-to-day runnings of the stable yard. Organizing lessons, lesson plans, and horse work rotations.
Working at a yard in London is my first time working in a riding school/yard here in the UK. Here I am an instructor and teach all ages and levels starting from lunge lessons to group lessons as well as advanced jumping lessons. I also work as a groom doing all the yard duties and horse care.
I have a passion for the care and well-being of horses. Turning out the horses with a high standard, as well us mucking to a high standard.
Teaching engaging, informative, and practical lessons focusing on empathy to the rider, safety, and progression.
Mainly have worked with thoroughbreds off the track and warmbloods in South Africa. Here in the UK mainly with native breeds, lots of cobs and connis.
In South Africa, I did a lot of work with the off-track thoroughbreds rehabilitation them into their new jobs, mostly competitive horses in the disciplines show jumping and dressage. this had many challenges but doing this definitely taught me patience, hard work pays off and really getting me to be creative in my schooling.
I represented South Africa for the 90cm showjumping. Awarded my South African half colors for Showjumping(90cm) and dressage(novice). I competed in affiliated equitation, working hunter, novice dressage, and up to 1.20m showjumping. I was chosen for my provincial team for the disciplines listed above for 3 years running and was placed well throughout the years. I was my own groom throughout the years of my competing.
