The position is designed to teach the fundamentals of horse care and training through hands-on work experience. We have had a working student internship program for 2 decades. Many of our graduates have gone on to accomplish great things in the horse industry. If you are successful, you will leave with a fantastic reference and letter of recommendation in addition to gaining an invaluable amount of experience. What will you gain? Exactly what you put in. We love to work with students who can use this internship for college credit too, but that is not mandatory.
I have rode for 20 years and owned horses for 18. I’m 24, fit healthy enthusiastic and energetic. I’m confident with stabling duties, grooming, feeding, handling, plaiting etc.
The only thing I’d need to brush up on is clipping as I’ve only ever done full clips.
I’ve ridden cross country and done showjumping. I’ve also hacked a lot and had regular lessons.
I have previously competed at cash jumping & also unaffiliated.
