Run a small yard of nine horses which includes broodmares foals youngsters hunters and eventers.
Equine Work Experience
All throughout secondary school I worked on a racing stud owned by one of the Hunt masters so in doing that I learnt a vast amount of skills such a foaling mares down, handling stallions and colts, backing, turning out the hunters to a very high standard.
I went to college to study equine however as I’ve been through the pony club tests and have achieved my AH test I didn’t find I was learning much, and during which time Nick Gauntlet got in contact to ask wether I would be interested in going on an apprenticeship at his yard. I then worked at Nicks which I loved and really felt I had found my dream job, however due to a family friend getting seriously ill I unfortunately had to make the decision to leave to go back home to help out with the horses there.
I have since been running the yard on our family farm and eventing upto BE novice and hoping to step upto intermediate this season
