I'm studying for an Access to Higher Education Diploma in the Land-Based Sector. I have a diploma in Animal Management. I also have a full set of GCSEs ranging from A-C in English, Maths and Science.

Duties of Current Occupation

Mucking out, clipping manes, tails and feathers, turning out to the highest standard, hand grazing, administering medication to sick and injured horses, daily exercising, grooming, bathing and trimming and pulling manes and tails and mucking out.

Equine Work Experience

I have worked in a professional equestrian environment before for a year, and I learnt how to be sole charge of a yard as well as working both as a team and an individual under a certain time limit and pressure. I also have ridden and handled horses and ponies of various temperaments, size and breeds.

Specialities

I’ve worked in showjumping, eventing, racing, a stud yard and recently a polo yard. I have experience running a yard by myself of up to 12 horses, and I am quick at mucking out to a high standard, good at time management, I keep a neat and tidy yard and I present and turn out horses to a high standard.

Type of Ride Work

I have ridden ex-racehorses, racehorses, polo ponies, show jumpers, eventers, horses who are prone to rear, nap or buck, I have also ridden young horses. I have ridden horses out hunting, showjumping, dressage, polo and ex-racehorses.

Competition Details

I have competed both on my own horse and other horses for other people. I have worked on a competitive showjumping yard and a competitive polo yard.

I have ridden my own horses and excelled in eventing, as well as hunting too.
