Equine Work Experience

I have been riding since I was 9 years old and have continued to train at every opportunity all of my life to establish my skills. I started by studying towards an NVQ level 2 in Horse Management whilst working at a riding school. I then went on to study at college towards a National Award and a National Diploma in Horse Management. I then decided to go to university and study towards a Bsc Degree in Equine Sports Science. Whilst studying I continued to work at various riding schools on various hours and freelance instructing children and adults both to ride and stable management. I have trained various horses and ponies for other people and for myself and then sold them to family homes. I have cared for and exercised dressage/show jump/hunting/team chasing/event/race horses of various stages for their owners on many occasions and I have been left in sole charge many times whilst owners were away on holiday or working.

Specialities

I have a degree in Equine Sports Science and have worked with horses all of my life. I have taught a variety of riders from local level un affiliated to BSJA riders. I particularly enjoy teaching children both to ride and stable management. I have more recently been a sole charge carer for event horses and youngsters and freelance instructor/trainer.

Type of Ride Work

I can ride to an advanced level, using my skills to improve and establish the horse that i am riding. I can exercise horses to follow the requests of owners/trainers. I have passed my BHS stage 1 & 2 riding exams. I enjoy dressage, schooling and flatwork and i love hunting, hunter trials and showjumping.
