I currently have sole charge of small private yard with hunting and therapy horses, day to day I ensure yard is run smoothly and horses are always turned out to a high standard.

I have been voulunteering at a private yard for the past 3/4 years. Here I handle horses and ponies from the ages of 2 to 28. I have volunteered at this yard for several years, gaining experience in a number of areas. I have helped in the process of backing and bringing on youngsters, including teaching them ground manners, lunging/long reining, getting their first rider on and eventually getting them ready to be sold. I also play a large role in maintaining the yard with general duties such as mucking out, getting in/turning out, tacking up, holding for farrier, dentist etc., and tack cleaning. Whilst also working to ensure the horses and ponies are kept happy, healthy and clean. I also breifly worked at an eventing yard during 2018 , gaining experience with working with big highly strung event horses and grooming at higher level shows than i previously had.
