Duties of Current Occupation
During my integrated placement and when not at university I assist with the running of a livery yard, housing the family’s working hunters in addition to youngsters and retirement liveries, with sole charge twice a week.
Equine Work Experience
Horses have been a key aspect of my entire life and have influence my chosen career path in veterinary physiotherapy. During my integrated placement year I worked for 18 months at a livery yard on a family run estate with a keen interest in hunting. Key aspects included high standards of turn out for 6 hunt horses, communication and organisation with DIY livery’s and responsibility of retirement and Young stock grass livery’s. I have additionally gained experience in the racing sector both on stud and pre-training at a well regarded facility. My current interest lie within optimising performance of performance horses and rehabilitation.
Specialities
I have worked 2023 and 2024 hunt season looking after a private families 6 hunters, demonstrating high standards of turn out. I have had sole charge of a livery yard multiple days a week housing 20+ horses communicating effectively with clients. I have established foaling skills, young stock and thoroughbred handling through experience at a well regarded racing facility/stud. I am currently studding veterinary physiotherapy so have keen interest in optimising performance and rehabilitation.
