Bio
No horse, but I do have two small, well behaved (castrated !) dogs. Both are used to country life, and very chilled out. Currently working in the haulage industry as a class 2 driver on Hs2 (same company for the last 4 years)
Duties of Current Occupation

General yard management - arranging vet/farrier/physio visits, transportation of horses, daily care of horses (including ridden fitness work) liasing about riding schedules with owners/riders, feeding, ordering relevant supplies for yard etc

Equine Work Experience

I have worked predominantly as a sole charge Hunt groom, however I do also have experience with managing staff. I have worked as a groom on professional competition yards (Eventing, Showing, SJ) and I have done the odd season of stud work here and there over the years. When I was working in the horse industry in the last 10 years of my equestrian career, I was employed by a professional Polo player for 3 seasons, I worked as a Stud Groom for two hunts, and I have also worked for a couple of Polo patrons. Been working full time as a HGV driver for the last 7 years (2019 to present) however I have continued to do horses “on the side”.

Specialities

I have good equine health observations/vet care. I am self motivated and reliable, with good initiative and common sense, unfazed about dealing with stressful situations. Have professionally worked with hunters, polo ponies, broodmares/foals/youngstock over the years. My current job has allowed for a lot of personal professional development, as I am left to lead a team of HGV drivers in the managers absence, which involves a lot of responsibility in various different areas.

Hacking, fitness work, fast work

Competition Details

I have competed in hunter trials (and hunted) on previous horses in my care
