Duties of Current Occupation

I own four of my own horses and care for 4 other horses. My duties are mucking out, poop picking, feeding, showering, plaiting, hoof picking, grooming, exercising, breeding, assisting the vet with mare scans, diet & nutrition during pregnancy.

Equine Work Experience

I am currently completing my Level 3 extended diploma in Horse Management at Moulton College, which has allowed me to further my knowledge in specific areas, I have completed commercial experience, work experience including alongside an equine vet, competition preparation, grooming, plaiting and pulling of the mane and tail, clipping to different requirements, health and husbandry, wound management, equine breeding, equine behaviour, I would love to be a part of a professional environment and achieve more hands on experience and knowledge as I believe there is always something new to learn or further develop with horses. I have worked within a livery yard which has allowed me to take care of the horses basic needs and further needs when required.

Specialities

I own four of my own horses of different ages and breeds and I care for other filly’s, mares, and a stallion. My passion is breeding and foal management. I genuinely care and I look after every horse as if they were my own. I am time efficient and pay close attention to detail. I always ensure the welfare and safety of the horses, myself, and others around us are paramount in everything I do. I am also completing my Level 3 extended diploma in Horse Management at Moulton College.

Type of Ride Work

My riding experience is limited, but I am hoping to continue to develop this, I am confident at harness driving and long reining. I have experience with preparing a horse to be ridden including introducing the tack such as saddle and bridle, and mounting a green horse to begin breaking, and with a green horse I’ve only gone as far as asking them to walk on and remain at a walk. I can remain calm in these circumstances as I ensure I keep the horse calm and relaxed as much as possible.

Competition Details

I have experience with competition preparation, including bathing, grooming, plaiting to a high standard, horse and rider turn out, affiliated competitions handbooks, including the rules, tack and equipment requirements, and rider turn our expectations. I’ve had training on loading and unloading horses with different temperaments, my experience is for both Dressage and Show Jumping.
