Qualifications

I have a range of school leaver qualifications issued by the Scottish Qualifications Authority.

Duties of Current Occupation

My main duties are varied from day to day but mostly involve, Feeds, turnout, muck out stables, arrange rugs for wash, exercise morning lot. PM: Exercise remaining rides, clean down yard, feed up and then finish.

Equine Work Experience

I have worked in a variety of different settings, from horse racing, to showjumping and in between, during my years working I have gained a wide range of skills and experience which I believe I can bring with me wherever I end up. I was lucky to be involved with horses from a really young age thanks to my mum, who competed and rode showjumping horses for many years, my heart lies with thoroughbred horses and re-schooling them to secure them a good future in a variety of careers, my own horses have always been off the track and they have taught me valuable skills and life lessons over the years. I am keen to further my knowledge and skills and would be ideally be looking for employment with opportunities where this is available, I am not afraid of hard work and happy to ride and work with difficult horses. I've handled a variety of horses from youngstock, bloodstock to stallions broodmares and competition horses, and would be most happiest working in a setting with variety.

Specialities

I have a keen attitude and put a lot of effort into my work, and have worked under a variety of different circumstances and gained valuable skills. I specialise in the rehabilitation of TB horses, it is something I do off my own back that I take great pride in as I believe these horses have the heart and ability for a wide variety of careers. I have gained a lot of experience through doing so and feel I can transfer the skills I've learned to any role while adapting to what is required.

Type of Ride Work

I have experience in flatwork and jumping, cross country riding, breaking in and schooling, retraining of racehorses. I am also keen to get involved in dressage and will be doing so over the summer period.
