Duties of Current Occupation
In terms of equine care, I am experienced in yard management, such as mucking out, turning out/catching in, feeding, schooling, and maintaining a hygeenic and clean workspace. I also have experience in competition schooling, horse health and welfare.
Equine Work Experience
I have worked on livery yards and for private clients, carrying out standard livery duties, adapting to individual client needs, and providing one-on-one animal care. I am able to work in all weather conditions, communicate with a variety of clients, and safely and effectively take care of a yard and its horses to a high standard. I have also kept my own horses for over 10 years, riding to a high quality and exercising correct equine care. Additionally, during my university degreee I have gained experience in assessing equine conformation, biomechanical analysis, tack developments and impacts, and nutritional influence. From this degree I have a deeper understanding of equine physiology, psychology, behaviour, and reproduction. I am able to provide portfolio evidence of critical evaluation of rider skills, including habitation and natural horsemanship techniques (completed within my first year of study).
Type of Ride Work
I have experience riding flatwork, cross country and British Showjumping on my own horse, as well as having ridden a variety of client horses from youngsters and nervous horses to more experienced horses.
Competition Details
I have competed British Showjumping up to Newcomers, shadowed professional riders when competing, and also competed in British Horseball for my University.
