I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
My name is Daisie, I am 18 years old and have owned horses for the past 5 years. I have previously worked on an international showjumping yard and am keen to pursue my next job. I am open to any discipline and able to adapt to every yards standards and needs.
BHS stage 1,2&3
BHS Stage 1 BHS Stage 2 BHS Stage 3
Lifting feed bags, customer service. I have worked on yards previously and have been left in sole charge of 8 horses for holiday cover. I have also broken in horses both at a yard for work and two of my own.
I went to Stonar school in Wiltshire for 6th form. I was yard prefect there and completed my BHS stages 1,2 and the theory and lunge part of my stage 3- i did not take the riding part as I took the exam alongside studying for my a-levels. I have broken in two horses of my own, one of which was a project to sell. I have also produced horses myself.
I'm confident at lunging and working with young horses both on the ground and riding.
I have worked on a dressage yard and a showjumping yard. I worked at the dressage yard for a year and gained a lot of experience with young horses. I worked on the show jumping yard on a flexible basis as cover for holiday or sickness for a couple of years before getting the job at the dressage yard.
I am very patient especially with younger horses. I am trustworthy and honest. I work well with others and am good at communicating.
I love working with younger horses as I find it very rewarding to teach them and see them improve.
I am happy riding young or green horses.
I have hunted and evented and enjoy flatwork and jumping.
I have competed up to BE100 level.
I sold my first horse in November 2020 as BE100 was his limit and I wanted to compete to a higher level so I sold him to buy a young horse that I could break in and produce myself that will hopefully be able to compete at a higher level.
