Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Horse Management BSc (Hons) Equine Performance Science degree

Yard duties, exercising horses, tacking up, preparation and presentation of horses.

I have recently completed a BSc (Hons) Equine Performance Science degree. For this qualification a large amount of work experience was required. I was able to participate in a variety of work experience placements such as on an event yard, a showing yard and several livery yards. When studying for my degree I have worked as a groom on a local riding school and livery yard. My roles would be to ensure the yard duties were completed efficiently and to a high standard, the preparation and presentation of horses, communicating with clients of a variety of age and riding experience.

I always ensure the yard is kept tidy and yard routines run smoothly and hassle free. Experience in show preperation (plaiting, bathing, pulling manes and tails). Experience of working both individually and as part of a team. I have experience in teaching volunteers / work experience students on the daily yard routine and yard health and safety.
