Duties of Current Occupation

I have both volunteered and been 'head girl' at a local riding school, where this involved ensuring all 40 of the horses are mucked out, groomed, tacked up, fed, untacked and turned out with a high standard of care.

Equine Work Experience

I have been riding for about 5 1/2 years and started volunteering after 3 months of riding, so have been working with them for around 5 years. I started part loaning my pony and after 3 months, took her on fully and have now had her for just over 3 years, during this time we've done low level shows, beach rides and camps. However she has also been accident prone, so I've had plenty of opportunity to practice first aid. I also spent a summer at a Camp in America, where I taught the children how to ride, specifically the beginners, as well as teaching horsemanship lessons.

Type of Ride Work

I have a 14.2 cob cross, and have ridden mostly native ponies (fells and dales) at the riding school where I learnt to ride, as well as a 17.2 Standardbred, who I worked for a lady on my yard while she was injured. I have done both flatwork and jumping, usually alternating weekly in my lessons and practicing flatwork in-between. I have never hunted.

Competition Details

I competed in local shows with my horse, but not really much experience.
