Equine Work Experience

I'm from a very rural do it yourself background without access to formal training or facilities which has made me resilient and hardworking. Due to living on an island I have no paid experience but I have volunteered at a livery yard and found the experience super valuable. I have re-broken my old cob before and broke in my thoroughbred youngster myself so handling youngsters is not an issue. I love schooling and have produced some lovely results with my past horse. I am used to dealing with various ponies antics and can sit the majority of them. Sadly haven't had much jumping or competition experience but the jumping I have done out hacking I've really enjoyed. My own mare has been given a lot of time off to mature and grow at her own rate. I care for my own horses so I am well equipped with basic horse care and have some limited equine first aid experience. The most important goal for me is to learn as much as I can from anybody who will teach me.

Specialities

I am used to managing horses with special dietary requirements, used to handling young green horses, can babysit children of all ages happily. Have ridden green horses and have continued their education both out hacking and in the school. I am very experienced in working as part of a team to deliver excellent quality service to customers. Not afraid to muck in and do hard jobs in all kinds of weather. I have some experience with power tools and would be happy to learn more.

Type of Ride Work

I have mostly ridden cobs and my own thoroughbred but have experience with shetlands etc. Very used to green horses and I do a lot of hacking solo and in company. I enjoy schooling and dressage when I can in the field as no arena. I have not competed at all because of how remote I live but I would absolutely love to in the future. Right now I am focusing on building up strength in my mare through a variety of groundwork, hacking and long reining before starting schooling and jumping.

Competition Details

I haven't competed before sadly due to lack of transport and living on an island but I volunteered at a working hunter show and had a great time learning how events operate and what to expect. I would love the opportunity to do this more often.
